A new journey for pleasuremancer


Hi guys,

I hope you're doing well, and you're getting ready for a good holiday season.

A lot of things have been going on in the last few days, and I wanted to give you a quick overview of the project.

There are three main parts to me that need special attention. 

I - Bug / low qualities / translation

The bugfix phase is now almost over, there was a whole bunch of bugs, including blocking ones that hindered the progress, I can assure you that almost all of them are corrected, if there are still some I don't know about them and I will thank you to report them on the discord. 

This bugfix phase has unfortunately made some translations skip, and the work will be Dantesque on this side. It is one of my priorities for the beginning of next year, to rework the whole translation part with a priority for the English language. If you are a translator and you want to help on the project, please contact me, your help will be more than welcome. 

So the priority for January will be to set up a translation system that will make the job easier for the following months with an absolute priority for the English version. (The game is already 95% translated but the state of the art has not been done yet, the priority being the resolution of blocking bugs).

From time to time, the characters (imageside) don't appear and/or their facial expressions are not good, we will also work on it little by little, note that the scenes until the construction of the tower are of good quality, and this one degrades after the construction. 

We also need to address the subject of saves. The update which will arrive at the end of January, will allow us to start from this version so that there is no more problem at the level of saves it will be the 0.4.0 and from the (except meteorite and COVID 23) there will be no more problem at the level of saves post 0.4.0. 

II - Gameplay / Player choice / and scenes

Concerning my priorities on the game as such. They go on several immediate axes.

The backery

It starts with the redesign of the quest of Adie and Laetitia in the bakery, it was too fast and did not allow to develop as much as I wanted the characters, it will be modified, there will be new intermediate CG.

The introduction

The introduction, is a problem, it is "hardcore" compared to the rest of the game, and many players may pass pleasuremancer, because of their sudden death, not allowing them to enjoy the game, there will be a possible summary of the intro to go directly in the main game.

The combat system.

Initially I wanted a cool rpg system with fights with lots of units, it results today in a daubed system that is too long, buggy and boring. I haven't made a decision on this but I'm studying all the possibilities, whether it's "transforming" the fights into textual ones like for the caravans. Or simply modify the system to make the fights more violent and faster. If you have any ideas, please give them here or on the discord.

The hot stuff

At the moment I don't intend to advance in the main quest, but mostly to add content with the existing characters. Whether it's hot parties with Yehran, or interactions with all the girls in the game and why not add new ones, because the midgame is a bit too empty in my eyes.

the problem with girls sharing

I know that some of you will like to help the game but don't find your fun in it because the girls are shared. I am aware of the problem and I will add a way to avoid this inconvenience, without loss of content (I will add alternative content).

III - Conclusion.

I realized, despite my PTSD of 2 years ago where I found myself in financial bankruptcy, that there was no other way to return to Pleasuremancer other than to the fullest. And so I made the decisions accordingly. 

To realize all this, in addition to the help of L43ND43, an acquaintance of the field advised me a renpy specialist who will help me greatly from January, my artist Caesar is also willing to work, they are not free, far from it, but it is the price of quality. Tomorrow I will publish the version in the state that is described by this news and I wish you happy holidays.
